Sharpening
At Bettertons we use Joewell accredited technicians, who have been servicing scissors for over 30 years, to offer the highest quality sharpening. This service is open to all brands of hairdressing scissors and thinners.
The cost is £25.00 per pair. This cost includes parts, vat and return postage by Royal Mail ‘signed for’ delivery if going to a private address, or by courier if going to a salon address. If you require a more secure return please add £5.00 per package for return by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Please allow 7 - 10 days for return.
Please enclose a cheque made out to Bettertons, or payment can be made over the phone by debit/credit card once your scissors have been serviced.

We recommend you use ‘signed for’ delivery in a padded envelope when sending your scissors. Make sure that your scissors are protected when sending.
If you’re able to, please print out and fill in our sharpening form to enclose with your scissors.
Please note that Royal Mail do not offer insurance on your package when sent by ‘signed for’ delivery, if you require insurance check with the Post Office when sending.
Depending on usage we advise that you have your scissors serviced every 1-2 years, this is unless they have been dropped or have any other damage, if this is the case please have them looked at immediately, as damaged blades will pull, rip and fold hair, giving your client an unpleasant cutting experience.
